Online Program

TBIoptions:Promoting Knowledge is organized into three modules to provide you with flexibility. The modules range in length from 5-20 minutes. Watch the three modules one after another, or choose to watch each module at a different time. The choice is yours! (Please see "Continuing Education" in the navigation pane if interested in learning about TBI for 2 hours of continuing education units through Kansas State University.)

The automated modules feature:

  • Important information shared by the instructor
  • Videos that showcase the personal perspectives of survivors
  • Handouts for each module (print before beginning the program)
  • Opportunities to apply what you have learned

Module 1 provides fundamental knowledge about traumatic brain injury (TBI). The impact of TBI is discussed in terms of physical, cognitive, emotional, and behavioral effects.

Module 2 discusses the consequences of TBI for relationships, activities of daily living, and work. The importance of individuals and community in supporting survivors and their family members is reviewed.

Module 3 presents a unique resource for locating potentially helpful organizations and agencies for survivors, family members, and friends living in Kansas.

The survey gives you an opportunity to tell us what you think of the TBIoptions program. Share your opinion after watching one or all of the modules!

Note. If you encounter problems with the online program (i.e., it will not load, or the videos stop and start), please email jkahl@ksu.edu to request a FREE copy of the program on DVD (while supplies last). Be sure to include your mailing address.
